3 months ago I made a blog about my sons 9 month milestone update… he’s now one, I should probably update his milestones for you guys.
We finally baptised Lorenzo Robert Caesar into the house of god, which is a big thing for my side of the family, the day was a very special day of two families coming together as one for our baby boy. he wore a family dress brought over all the way from Scotland to Australia and we had a nice family lunch afterwords.
we had our first family Christmas at our place this year. being the guest to the host is definitely different and i felt I missed a lot of my sons first Christmas because I was running around doing everything but I also came to the relational that this will be Christmas day for me every year until I’m old and grey, which turns out I’m pretty ok with this because it actually ended up being a great time of the year for my family.
after Christmas we had our sons first birthday and unfortunately our family was rocked with some rather sad news on the same day, but we all pulled ourselves together and had a nice family day with lots of love and cake. For Lorenzo’s birthday I had decided to begin a new “Birthday” thing which saves me a lot of money and also keeps me in check to not go so crazy overboard every year, Lorenzo only got 3 little gifts. “Something he needs.” which was a pair of nike shoes, “something educational” which was ABC flash cards, and “Something he wants” which of course they year we decided for him and got him bath toys which he loves and he needed. I found this idea online and it always stuck with me because I find that some parents see it as bragging rights in the way they buy there child a gift. and to me that takes the meaning out of “Gifts” for my son.
Lorenzo started his second year of daycare which he now goes full-time this year, he has already made one strong friendship with one little boy a few months younger then him, they both share the toys with each other and also get into things with the help from each other and I can’t wait to see how this friendships grows.
Lorenzo had a rather big health change when we took him for his first year shots. our Dr pulled up that it sounded like Lorenzo had a slight heart mumer which ended with hospital check ups and finding out that he did indeed have a slight heart mumer. But thankfully he won’t effect him in anyway and he will grow out of it by the age of 8 years old. so really Lorenzo just wanted to give his mother a slight panic attack for the hell of it.
I now am officially 25 years old which Hayden will tell me time and time again I’m half way to 50.
Lorenzo Got his first hair cut! and yes this mumma cried. but he did so well and actually loved getting his hair cut? weird I know!
Lorenzo went for a check up to see if he could start drinking milk based things, we had a trial on milk for a week after the doctors orders and he still was sick and showed so signs of improvement so he was put back on a milk based free year again and we will re-try when he turns two.
I think this pretty much brings everyone back up to speed for 2019.
I will be doing a one year milestone update for Lorenzo but this one is a big one and has needed more time.
